We began moving this week and will finish this weekend. It is bittersweet. Bitter to leave our first home and our dear neighbors yet ever so sweet because our new place is so much of what we want for our family. It is quiet and serene and has a massive yard perfect for the kids, the dogs, and other things we are planning for ourselves--an outdoor teepee, a garden, a playground and more.
Through all of this chaos of being a pregnant mom of three, homeschooling our kindergartener, working outside of the home, foreclosing and moving, I have to say, I am incredibly thankful for where we are headed. Granted, it is a different life, not urban or suburban though not completely rural, yet remote enough for me to have to adjust to something new. But I know it is what my heart really desires. Though I am obsessed with the city, if I am honest with myself, I must admit that for my kids I want a place where they can run and play and discover and learn and be safe. And I don't mean safe from so-called bad people but safe from something like being hit by a car when they run outside to play. In our new place, they can scramble outside the front or the back door without me having to worry because the yard is fully fenced. And they have more than enough space, probably around a third of an acre. With all of the plants and trees in our yard and the animals in the yards nearby (hens and roosters, goats, deer, and horses), they will have plenty of opportunity to learn and grow their minds. Shay and I already love it too. We can sit on the front or back porch and not hear anything but the sounds of nature. So yes, I am very thankful.
If you ever have the opportunity, we would love to share our thankfulness with you. Visitors are always welcome. I can't guarantee we won't be a little cramped indoors, but I assure you, there is always room to enjoy the outdoors! For now, join me on a virtual tour outdoors. . .

In addition to all the wonderful things I've already mentioned, living here puts us only a hop, skip, and a jump away from the bay. I really have no reason to complain. Remind me of all of this if the urge ever presents itself. And let me not forget in my thankfulness to thank all of you for being here for us during this chaos. You have prayed for us, encouraged us, given to us in so many ways, and your tender love and care will never be forgotten. We could not have made it through all of this without you. We love you.
